7 day programme - Course Outline

Day 1
Arrive at, ‘La Ferme de la Lochere,’ by transfer from the local station provided by us, and enjoy the local Burgundian Aperitif & Welcome chat
There will be plenty of time to explore the village & meander along the canal before dinner, where we will discuss the weeks programme and delight in a Chardonnay wine tasting with our wine expert who will explain the wine appellation of Burgundy
Day 2
After a delicious breakfast of local patisseries you will be leaving for our local Vineyard of Flavigny, where 'Chocolat' was filmed,with Johnny Depp and Juilliette Bernoch. In the grounds of this lovely domaine their wine maker will share his knowledge of the vines and explain the sensations of tasting these robust fruity Burgundy wines.
After lunch back at La Ferme de la Lochere you will be having your first hands on cooking experience using the cookbooks you received on your arrival.
This evenings dinner will depend on your success in the kitchen that afternoon

Day 3
After breakfast we will be heading off to Dijon and the colourful Market that is held 3 times a week. You will be armed with your recipe book and a list of ingredients to seek out, testing your French! When our baskets are full a well earned café au lait awaits you before we head back via the ducal palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. A rustic lunch will be enjoyed from the market out in the courtyard or weather permitting on the hillsides of the Vineyard about Savigny les Beaune, before we prepare supper together with another hands on culinary experience using all our delicious goodies brought that morning.

Day 4
Depending on the the time of year we may well be heading into the fields in search of the elusive mushroom or learning to make croissant with my local baker Fred. Together we will be creating our lunch from these ingredients before heading off to the Abbaye de Fontenay one of the oldest Cistercian Monasteries in France and still owned privately by the Mongolfiere family. We will be stopping for a café at our Medieval town of Semur en Auxois on the way back before enjoying dinner cooked and served by your hostess.

Day 5
This morning we join our Wine expert who will whisk you off to the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits where your taste buds will be brought to life and you'll learn new techniques to appreciate wine. Burgundy wine lovers will appreciate this spectacular day with visits to vineyards you would not normally have access too.You will then be free for afternoon shopping in Beaune with the option to have a guided visit of the Hospice de Beaune.
Dinner will be cooked and served by your hostess

Day 6
With a week of inspiration and hands on experience we will be creating the penultimate feast to be enjoyed during lunch before heading off for dinner at 3* Michelin Restaurant Bernard Loiseau in Saulieu www.bernard-loiseau.com

Day 7
Alas, all good things must come to an end and after Breakfast we will be offering transfers to the train station in Montbard where you will be taken to Paris in time for lunch, and your new appreciation for all things French can be truly indulged!
