The Majestic Ferme de la Lochere
When you arrive at, ‘La Ferme de la Lochere,’ you will immediately notice the vast doors of which there are three. Handmade in oak by local craftsmen, stretching upwards 3m high by 4m wide, they caste brilliant sunlight into the ground floor which is just over 200m2, paved in flagstones, with a majestic stone staircase sweeping up to the 1st floor.
The entrance hall is spacious and rises up to the eves, which is lit with soft lights from 2 Morroccan Lanterns suspended from the ceiling. Following through past the stone staircase, which is situated on your left, you will be taken round and into the vast sitting room with its handsome fireplace and large, really squishy sofas, heaven at all times of the year!
There is a very practical hand carved oak table big enough to seat all guests and children. Again there are 3 Morroccan Lanterns to bath the whole area in soft coloured light rising up to the roof. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the owner is a professional Chef, (she is available for cooking demonstrations and can provide meals, if booked in advance). Full of everything you will ever need with a professional cooker for those who wish to practise being the next Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver!!
From the sitting room, dining room you will be led out through the arched oak doors into a flowering garden. Stylish garden furniture, water feature and BBQ are provided.
The 1st of the 5 bedrooms can be found on the Ground Floor, 30m2 in size with its own bathroom. For those who prefer the ground floor it’s ideal. Tastefully furnished light and airy is the theme for this and all the other bedrooms, which are the same size and bigger!
Going up to the 1st Floor will lead you to a large mezzanine area and to the right are 2 bedrooms.
Both with bathrooms and lots of space. The 3rd & 4th Bedrooms can be found to the left of the mezzanine.
A small walkway will take you down to the gallery looking over the sitting room; dining room and the bedroom doors lead off to the right and left of that. Both bedrooms are very large and can sleep up to 3 people, (a family room), with additional cot space. The Bathrooms are spacious, and the one to the right of the passageway has a bath as well as a shower.
Coming back down to the Ground Floor and turning in the opposite direction to the sitting room, a passage way will take you to the 2nd garden, where the heated pool is to be found.
Compliant with all French Pool Regulations and surrounded by a natural stonewall; it is the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine.
